   Pressure Gauges; You Get What You Pay For...Sometimes You Pay for Marketing

   In today’s competitive environment where every dollar counts, finding ways to save money without compromising quality and service are an important part of staying competitive. If your company uses pressure gauges, either on an OEM basis, or for spare parts, you may have an area to save money and not compromise the quality of the products you use. It is now secret that we live in a global economy. Products and services move freely around the world. From printer cartridges, to accounting services, automobile parts and more, where you buy the finished goods often have no relationship with where they and their subcomponents were manufactured. This is particularly true for pressure gauges. While it is true that most of the large U.S. manufactures of pressure gauges, maintain some manufacturing capabilities in the U.S., they also have large manufacturing facilities overseas. They too want to take advantage of low cost high quality manufacturing available overseas. The end customer is often unaware that they are buying a product that is made overseas. He can not see a difference in form, fit or function. And he does not see much difference in price. You can avoid this by seeking a reputable company that imports pressure gauges. You will recognize a reputable company because they will warrant the pressure gauges in case of defect and they will tell you up front where they are made (usually China, India or Eastern Europe.) Do your own homework and ask questions and make sure the quality and warranty standards meet your needs. If you do this, you will get more than you pay for and stop paying for someone else’s marketing.
